The report summarizes the latest in a series of tracking surveys on public attitudes about college access and affordability. The nationwide survey of more than 1,000 adults, conducted in December 2008, finds that Americans are becoming increasingly pessimistic about college costs and college opportunity, and think that colleges and universities are not doing enough to provide high-quality, affordable education to students.
